As a little skinny-fat dude, I remember flicking through fitness magazines in the gym doing the “workout of the month” and trying to build a physique like the guy on the front cover! (In hindsight, my education and experience has taught me that guy was on a lot of steroids and never looks like that all year around).

I wasted a lot of time trying to find the “perfect diet” and believing a full body transformation was dependent on eating clean, becoming a vegan, and saying goodbye to anything laced with sugar, preservatives, and MSG.

As an out-of-shape guy, I’ve lived through low self-esteem, poor body self-confidence, negative self-belief, playing the genetic blame game, and so on. I looked “okay” with a shirt on, I guess, but going down the beach and taking it off was where I started to feel self-conscious!

I was also grappling with an insatiable sweet tooth, accompanied by an almost compulsive donut addiction. This “junk food” diet was the norm for most of my teenage years and well into my twenties. My childhood was defined by lollies, chocolate, vegemite and cheese sandwiches, donuts, and a lot of fast food!

Growing up, I lacked any fitness role models and was oblivious to concepts like calorie counting or “macronutrients” until I hit the age of 30. I didn’t sip my first protein shake or delve into strength training until I was 29!

Deep down, I always yearned to attain an athletic physique, to feel proud of my body. Nothing over the top—just lean and athletic looking! Yet, I genuinely believed that my genetics, lifestyle, junk food cravings, and the demands of my corporate night shift job would forever thwart my quest for a lasting transformation. I worked night shift in corporate for 9.5 years—7 nights straight (8.30pm-7am). It was tough!

It wasn’t until I turned 30 that I decided it was time for a change, a time to bid farewell to late-night chocolate binges and sugary office vending machine trips at 2 in the morning. It was time to use my night shift downtime to study what it really takes to get into shape.

I dedicated a portion of my night shift hours to voraciously learning about nutrition, training techniques, and the science of body recomposition. I became obsessed, poring over scientific journals and integrating this newfound knowledge in my gym workouts—a place that was also very intimidating to me.

How long is the start-up process?

Our average start-up time is 5-7 business days. After you’ve completed the online intake questionnaire and we’ve reviewed it, it will take approximately 3 business days to design your personalised training and nutrition plan. Typically, your start day with be a Monday (but not mandatory).

Can my partner do the coaching program with me?

Absolutely! We’ve taken on several client-couples! Involving your partner will accelerate your results due to the household being 100% onboard with the transformation process. We also provide a 10% couples discount for those who want to join the program with their partner and make their coaching journey a joint experience.

What if I travel frequently?

Many of my client’s travel frequently for work. There are plenty of tools that we can implement to ensure continued progress even while you are on vacation or on a work trip.

How do you keep me accountable?

We will keep you accountable with our custom in-app messaging service, email, and video check-ins. You’ll be sent video check-ins every 7 to 10 days which will thoroughly review your training, strength targets, and tracking spreadsheet.

What if I don’t have access to a fully equipped gym?

For the best results, we recommend access to a fully equipped gym or, at the least, a basic home gym set-up. Your coach may ask you to send photos of your home gym equipment to determine if it’s suitable to design a training program that will create the correct muscular stimulus. We have designed bodyweight programs and hotel gym work-outs for clients with great success however, to maximise strength gains, basic gym equipment is required.

How quickly will I see results?

You can expect to see results within 3 weeks of commencing the coaching service provided you follow the guidance from your coach.

Do I need to track my calories and macros?

This coaching service requires that you track your calories and macros. You’ll also need to track your body measurements every 2 weeks using a measuring tape. You’ll be required to weigh yourself daily and record your lifting progress into our custom coaching app.

How many hours per week do I need to train?

We can customise a training plan according to your work schedule, lifestyle, and travel requirements. For the best results, we recommend a minimum of 3 lifting sessions per week. Your lifting sessions will be no longer than 70-80 minutes in length! You won’t be required to do more than 2 hours of cardio per week.
